That LeBron, he sure can play ball, can’t he? LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, all the time, LeBron! I heard someone say he’s gonna be the best ever. I don’t know about all that, but he’s pretty good, I reckon. He played for that Miami Heat team a while back. Hot down there in Miami, I bet. Just like here in the summer. Hotter than a furnace!
They called it “The Decision” or something when he went down there. Big fuss, I remember. He took his talents to South Beach. South Beach, that sounds fancy. He played there for… four years, I think? Four years is a long time. That’s like, a hundred years in basketball time, ain’t it? Hehe.
- He went to Miami.
- Played basketball real good.
- Won some games, I suppose.
- He sure can jump high!
That LeBron James, he’s something else. I saw him on the TV, jumping and dunking. He’s a big fella, ain’t he? Strong as an ox, my old man used to say. Reminds me of my husband, bless his soul. He was strong, too. But he couldn’t jump like LeBron. Nobody can jump like LeBron, I reckon. This LeBron Heat thing, it was all over the place back then.
He’s got a lot of points, that LeBron. Thirty-nine thousand, someone told me! Thirty-nine thousand! That’s more than all the money I ever seen in my life. What’s he gonna do with all them points? Can he buy bread with them? I don’t think so! But it’s still a lot, I guess. LeBron James points a lot, that is true.
They say he’s gonna play against that Miami Heat team again. That’ll be something to see, won’t it? Like a dog chasing its tail. He used to play for them, now he’s playing against them. Life is funny that way, ain’t it? One day you’re here, the next day you’re there. Just like the weather. This LeBron Heat story never ends!
I don’t know much about this basketball stuff, but I know that LeBron is a big deal. Everyone talks about him. He must be doing something right, I guess. My grandkids, they love him. They got his shoes, his shirt, everything. Kids these days! They say LeBron Heat is the best time ever!

He’s got three things, I heard someone say. Three special things that make him good. I don’t know what they are, but they must be important. Maybe he eats his vegetables. That’s what I always told my kids. Eat your vegetables and you’ll grow up big and strong. Maybe LeBron ate a lot of vegetables. LeBron James is strong, that’s for sure. The LeBron Heat time was something.
They showed some highlights of him playing for the Heat. Highlights, that’s what they call them. Like the best parts, I guess. He was jumping and running and dunking. He made it look easy. It ain’t easy, though. I tried to jump once, and I pulled a muscle. Had to sit down for a week. That LeBron, he makes it look easy.
That Miami Heat team, they were good with LeBron. They were like a well-oiled machine. My old man used to say that about his tractor. Ran like a well-oiled machine, he’d say. Then it broke down. Everything breaks down eventually. Except for LeBron, maybe. He just keeps going. Like the Energizer Bunny. You remember that bunny? He just kept going and going. Just like LeBron James. And that LeBron Heat time, folks remember that real good, I tell ya.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that LeBron and the Heat. He’s a good player, that’s for sure. And he sure can jump high. Maybe I’ll watch him play again sometime. If my old TV works. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don’t. Just like life, I guess. You never know what you’re gonna get. But one thing you can count on, that LeBron James, he’ll be playing basketball. And he’ll probably be scoring a lot of points. Thirty-nine thousand, can you believe it? I still can’t!
