la edm for Newbies: A Quick intro to the music genre.

Must read

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole “la edm” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I’m no expert, but I figured I’d share my stumbling steps, ’cause maybe it’ll help someone else out there.

First Steps: What Even Is It?

Honestly, when I started, I had zero clue. I heard the term “la edm” and it was doing my head in. Some friend was going on about it, and i was like, what?

Getting My Hands Dirty

I started by downloading this software—free version, of course. I wasn’t about to drop cash on something I didn’t even understand. Installation was pretty straightforward. I just double-clicked a bunch of stuff and hoped for the best. You know, the usual.

  • Download the thing: Found some software, free trial. Good enough for me.
  • Install it: Click, click, click… done.
  • Open it up: And stare blankly at the screen. Yep, that’s me.

Figuring Out the Buttons

The interface was intimidating, not gonna lie. A million buttons and sliders, and I felt like I was piloting a spaceship. So, I did what any reasonable person would do: I started clicking random stuff. I made some truly awful noises, I’m sure. My cat was not impressed.

Then, I watched a few videos, no sound. I tried to follow along. It made a little more sense. The key, I realized, was to not be afraid to mess up. You can always undo, right?

Making (Some) Progress

Slowly, very slowly, I started to get a feel for it. I managed to put together a short track of sounds. It wasn’t exactly Grammy-worthy, but hey, it was something! I even added some simple effects, which felt like a major victory.

Still Learning, Still Messing Up

I’m definitely still a beginner. There’s so much more to explore, features I haven’t even touched yet. But I’m having fun with it, and that’s the main thing. It’s a bit of a time-sink, but it’s a cool way to unwind after a long day.

So, that’s my “la edm” adventure so far. It’s messy, it’s imperfect, but it’s mine. If I can figure it out, anyone can. Just remember: don’t be afraid to experiment, and don’t expect to become a superstar DJ overnight.
