Hey everyone, I just had a wild experience that I wanted to share with you all. I was checking out this UFC fight with Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and man, that hematoma she got was something else. I got inspired to try something a little crazy myself. But don’t worry, I’m not getting punched in the head!

First, I logged into my JOANN account online. I know, it sounds weird, but stay with me. I needed to get some stuff for this little project. I’ve been feeling a bit down lately, kind of like I’m trapped, you know? Like there’s some sort of abuse going on, but it’s all in my head. Anyway, I got all my personalized account info and ordered some materials.
While I was waiting for my order, I started thinking about this whole idea of identifying and assessing risks. I mean, in a UFC fight, you know what you’re getting into, right? But in life, it’s not always that clear. So, I decided to apply that concept to my project.
Getting Started
Once my JOANN stuff arrived, I laid everything out. I had these colorful fabrics and some stuffing. My goal? To make a dummy that sort of represents the struggles I’ve been dealing with, kind of like recognizing patterns of domestic violence, but in a symbolic way.
The Process
- I started sewing the fabric together, making a human-like shape.
- Then, I stuffed it, making it all puffy and weird-looking, kind of like Joanna’s hematoma but less gruesome.
- I kept thinking about how educators use storytelling to teach about things like decolonization. So I decided to use this dummy as a way to tell my own story.
The Result
In the end, I had this weird, lumpy dummy. But it meant something to me. It was like, by creating this thing, I was acknowledging the stuff I was going through. It wasn’t pretty, but it was real. I even showed it to a few friends, and they got it. We talked about our own struggles, and it was actually pretty therapeutic.
So, yeah, that’s my story. I took something I saw in a UFC fight and turned it into a weird art project that helped me deal with my own stuff. Life’s strange, right? But sometimes, you just gotta roll with it and see where it takes you.
