Today, I wanted to try something new, so I decided to mess around with this thing called “Jed” in “Night Manager”. I had heard some folks talking about it, and it sounded interesting. I didn’t really know what to expect, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
Getting Started
First, I had to get Jed installed. Turns out, it wasn’t too bad. I followed the instructions on the website, and it was pretty straightforward. Just a few commands in the terminal, and boom, it was installed. Then, I needed to figure out how to use it in Night Manager. I did a little digging around, and found some examples online. They weren’t the best, but they gave me a general idea.
Diving In
I started by creating a new project in Night Manager. I named it “Jed Test” because, well, I was testing Jed. Then, I opened up the main file and started playing around. I copied some of the code from the examples I found, and tried to modify it to do what I wanted. It was a bit of a struggle at first, to be honest. I ran into a few errors, and had to go back and fix them. A lot of trial and error, you know?
Making Progress
After a few hours of tinkering, I finally started to get the hang of it. I figured out how to get Jed to do some basic stuff, like displaying messages and changing colors. It was pretty cool to see it working. I even managed to add a few of my own features, like a button that changed the background color. That was a big win for me.
Wrapping Up
By the end of the day, I had a pretty good understanding of how Jed works in Night Manager. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, but I definitely feel more comfortable with it now. I’m excited to keep exploring and see what else I can do with it. Who knows, maybe I’ll even build something really cool with it someday. But for now, I’m just happy I learned something new.
