Is Joe from The Flash a Good Guy? Here is Why Fans Love Detective West!

Must read

Okay, so I was watching “The Flash”, right? I really dig this show, and I started thinking about Joe, you know, Detective Joe West, played by Jesse L. Martin. It hit me that this guy’s been through a lot on the show, and I wanted to really get into his character, see what makes him tick.

First off, I went back to the beginning, when Joe was just a regular cop in Central City. He’s always been a good guy, looking out for people, but then this whole thing with Barry Allen, the Flash, happens. I watched how Joe became like a dad to Barry, guiding him, you know? I noticed how much he cares, even with all this superhero stuff going on. It wasn’t easy, but he handled it. This made me appreciate Joe more.

Then I started looking at Joe’s own life outside of the Flash stuff. He had a wife, Francine, and a daughter, and then he had a son. This guy was married! I realized Joe’s got his own story, his own pain, like when his wife passed away. I dug up some old episodes to see how he dealt with all that. It’s tough, losing someone you love. Seeing him move on, start dating Cecile Horton, that was a big deal. It showed me he’s strong, able to love again after all that hurt.

Here’s what really got me: Joe’s relationship with his son, Wally. At first, he didn’t know about him, and then Wally becomes Kid Flash. I watched all those scenes where Joe’s trying to deal with his son being a speedster, and it’s a whole new level of worry for him. Eventually, though, he accepts Wally’s new path, thanks to some help from H.R., that other Wells guy. That was a cool moment, seeing Joe come to terms with it all.

So, I spent a whole afternoon just watching these Joe-centric episodes. I even found some interviews with Jesse L. Martin, the actor. He talked about how important it was to show Joe as a real person, not just a cop or a superhero’s dad. It made sense, because that’s what I was seeing in the show.

Then, there was this news about Jesse L. Martin taking a break from the show because of a back injury. Man, that bummed me out. I realized how much I was going to miss Joe on “The Flash.” He’s such a big part of the show, you know? I looked it up, and apparently, he’s only in like five episodes of season 7. It’s a shame, really.

My Thoughts After Digging Deep

  • Joe’s more than just a cop. He’s a dad, a friend, a guy trying to find love again.
  • He’s been through tough times, but he’s strong.
  • He’s a big part of what makes “The Flash” so good.

After all this, I just have a lot more respect for Joe West. He’s a solid character, and I’m glad I took the time to really see him. I noticed he’s not perfect, but he’s trying his best, and that’s something I can relate to. Anyway, that’s my deep dive into Joe West. What do you all think of him?
