The Dumb Way I Finally Got This Countdown Right
Was fiddling around this morning trying to figure out exactly how many days were left until May 10th, 2024. You know, just outta curiosity. Needed something free and simple, obviously. Thought maybe my phone calendar could do it? Nope, useless. Clicked around looking for some kinda countdown feature. Found nothing. Totally missed.
Then I remembered those big search engines everybody uses. Typed in something like “days until May 10 2024”. Boom! It spat out a number right there at the top. Like, immediately. Pretty cool, honestly. No sign-up, no downloading weird apps. Just typed and got my answer. Super quick win right there.
But… my brain wasn’t totally happy yet. Wanted something I could see every day without typing it out. Something visual. Tried looking at some apps people talk about online.
- Looked at one popular calendar app: Downloaded it. Signed up. Started digging through settings. Tried making a new event for May 10th. Stared at the screen. Couldn’t find any option for a running countdown to the date. Just… created an event. Frustrating. Deleted it.

Works perfectly. No app fuss. No constant checking settings. Just straightforward. Sometimes the simplest dumb way is the best way.
