Hey everyone, today I want to share my experience with the Railroad puzzle in Fallout 4. It was a real head-scratcher, but I managed to figure it out, so I’m here to walk you through it.
First off, I started the ‘Road to Freedom’ quest. This is the key to joining the Railroad faction. It’s pretty secretive, not like those Brotherhood of Steel guys who are all out in the open. Anyway, I followed the quest marker and it led me to the Old North Church. Sounded simple enough, right?
Once I got inside the church, I headed straight for the basement. I mean, where else would a secret organization hide? I navigated through the basement, dodging some ghouls on the way and then I found this circular thing on the wall at the end of a tunnel. This was it – the puzzle.
Now, this is where it got interesting. I noticed the inner ring had letters engraved on it. And there was this red arrow at the top of the circle. I fiddled around with it for a bit. Then it hit me – I needed to spell out “RAILROAD”. Yeah, I felt a bit dumb for not realizing it sooner, but who cares, I figured it out!
So, here’s what I did. I rotated the ring to align each letter with the red arrow. With each letter, I pressed the crest’s center. I did this for each letter in “RAILROAD”.
- R – Rotate, align, press.
- A – Rotate, align, press.
- I – Rotate, align, press.
- L – Rotate, align, press.
- R – Rotate, align, press.
- O – Rotate, align, press.
- A – Rotate, align, press.
- D – Rotate, align, press.
And bam! Once I spelled out the whole word, a hidden door opened up. It was like something out of a movie. I walked in and there they were – Desdemona and her crew. I had finally cracked the Railroad puzzle!
It was a cool experience. It’s not just about shooting and looting in Fallout 4. You gotta use your brain sometimes. Trust me, if I can solve it, anyone can.
