So, I wanted to do that cool photo swipe thing on TikTok that everyone’s been doing. You know, where you post a bunch of pictures and people can swipe through them? Yeah, that. I saw it, thought it was neat, and figured, why not give it a shot?
First things first, I opened up the TikTok app on my phone. Pretty obvious, right? Then I tapped on that plus sign at the bottom, like you always do when you want to start making something. I had already put a few photos into a folder to prepare them, but the app automatically showed me all the photos I had.
Next, instead of going straight to recording a video, I looked for an option to upload photos. They have a button in the bottom right of the screen called “upload”. I clicked it and it jumped to my photo gallery. It was a little tricky to find at first, but it’s there, right next to the big red record button. Once I found it, I started tapping on the photos I wanted to use. I had a bunch of pictures from my last vacation that I thought would be perfect. You have to select them one by one, but I’m not sure if you can select all of them at once or if it would work.
After I picked out all my photos, I hit “Next”. And bam, there was my photo swipe! TikTok automatically turned my pictures into a slideshow. The photos were shown one after another, but I found a button on the bottom left of the screen, called “switch to photo mode”. I clicked it and there it is! Now people can swipe the photos in my post! But it’s not over yet.
But I wanted to make it a little more interesting. I played around with some of the editing tools. I added some music using the “Add sound” button, threw in some text with the “Aa” button. They had a bunch of cool effects that I can use, I spent some time there, but I didn’t add any effects this time because the photos are beautiful enough.
- Select Photos: Tapped on the photos I wanted.
- Create Slideshow: TikTok automatically made a slideshow.
- Switch to Photo Mode: Clicked “Switch to photo mode” button, and let people swipe the photos.
- Add Music and Text: Spiced it up with some tunes and words.
Once I was happy with how it looked, I clicked “Next” again. I wrote a little caption, added a few hashtags, and then hit “Post”. And that’s it! My photo swipe was live on TikTok. It wasn’t too hard, once I figured out where everything was. It’s a pretty cool way to share a bunch of photos at once. You guys should definitely try it out if you haven’t already! Hope my experience can help you guys!
