Alright, so the other day I was trying to figure out this whole “promote cause” thing in Sims 4. I’m not gonna lie, it took me a minute to get it down, but once I did, it was pretty smooth sailing. Let me break down what I did and how you can do it too, step by step.

Starting the Political Career
First things first, I made sure my Sim was in the Politician career. You gotta be in this career to even have the option to promote a cause. So, I got my Sim into that career path. If you haven’t done this yet, just have your Sim find a job, and you’ll see the Politician career there.
Finding the “Promote Cause” Option
Once my Sim was all set in their new job, I started clicking around to find the actual “promote cause” option. I learned that it doesn’t just pop up on its own. You gotta interact with other Sims. So, I clicked on another Sim, went to the “Friendly” interactions, and then chose “Politician Career”. That’s where the magic happens – the “Promote Cause” option showed up.
Choosing a Cause
Now, here’s something I didn’t realize at first. You need to pick a cause before you can really get going. My Sim had actually promoted their cause once before without picking one, which I guess was just a lucky break. But to do it regularly, you gotta pick a cause. I did this by clicking on my own Sim, going to the “Political Career” sub-menu, and selecting a cause from there.
Promoting the Cause
Once the cause was set, I went back to interacting with other Sims. The daily task for the first few levels of the Politician career actually requires you to successfully convince other Sims about your cause. So, I just kept clicking on different Sims, going through the “Friendly” interactions, then “Politician Career”, and choosing “Promote Cause”.
Making it More Effective
I also had a bit of an idea to make things more interesting. I decided to organize an event. It wasn’t anything too fancy, just a small get-together where my Sim could talk to others about the cause. I even made some flyers, just for fun, to hand out. It felt more engaging this way, you know? Like I was really making an effort.

- Click on a Sim.
- Go to Friendly interactions.
- Select “Politician Career”.
- Choose “Promote Cause”.
And that’s pretty much it! It’s not that complicated once you get the hang of it. Just remember to get into the Politician career, pick a cause, and then start chatting up other Sims to promote it. Organizing an event is optional, but I found it to be a fun way to boost the whole experience. Happy Simming!
