Getting the Lowdown on the 2024 Sentry Field
Alright, so I wanted to figure out who was actually teeing it up for the Sentry Tournament of Champions this year, the 2024 one. You know, the first event of the year in Hawaii. Always a good one to watch.

First thing I did, pretty obvious, I just went searching online. Typed something simple like “2024 Sentry Tournament field” or “who qualified for Sentry 2024” into the search bar. Didn’t need anything fancy.
Got a bunch of results back, mostly sports news sites and the official PGA Tour pages. I usually lean towards the official tour site first, figure that’s gotta be the straight scoop. So, I clicked on one of those links.
Took me right to a page, or maybe an article, listing out the players. It wasn’t just a random list, though. They usually explain how guys got in. For the Sentry, it’s basically winners from the last season, right? Plus, I think they tweaked it recently to include some top guys from the FedExCup standings even if they didn’t win. Had to keep that in mind.
So, I scrolled through the names. Saw the usual suspects, the big winners from last year. You start recognizing names pretty quickly if you follow golf even a little bit.
- Checked who won the majors last year – they’d be in.
- Looked for winners of other big tournaments.
- Tried to spot anyone qualifying via the points list thing.
Sometimes these lists get updated, guys pull out last minute, injuries happen, whatever. So, I made sure the page looked reasonably current. Didn’t seem like an old list from months ago. Looked pretty set.

The key part was just confirming it was the list for the 2024 event at Kapalua. You gotta check the year and the tournament name, easy to click on an old link by mistake.
Once I had the list up, I just scanned it. Noted who the top dogs were, maybe a few surprising names, or sometimes noticing who wasn’t there is just as interesting. You figure out who had a good previous year just by seeing who made this field.
So yeah, that was basically it. Just a quick search, found the official-looking list, scanned the names and the qualification stuff. Got the info I needed. Now I know who to keep an eye on when the tournament starts. Simple as that.
