  • Drank water like it was my job. Gallons of it. Also black coffee and green tea. Nothing else.
  • Portion sizes? Tiny. I was hungry. All. The. Time.

Exercise was brutal:

  • Hit the gym twice a day. Yeah, twice.
  • Morning was cardio. An hour, minimum. Running, elliptical, whatever got my heart pounding.
  • Evening was weights plus more cardio. Tried to build muscle thinking it burns more fat, right? Followed by another 30-45 minutes of cardio.
  • Weekends? No rest. Maybe slightly less intense, but still active. Long walks or bike rides.

How Did It Actually Go Down?

The first week? Man, I saw the scale move fast. Lost maybe 8-10 pounds. Felt like a genius. Mostly water weight, obviously, but it fueled the fire. I was tired, sure, and super irritable from the lack of food, but seeing that number drop kept me going.

Week two hit like a brick wall. The weight loss slowed way down. Maybe 2-3 pounds that week? And I felt terrible. I had no energy. Workouts felt like torture. I was constantly thinking about food. Sleep was awful because I was hungry and my body was just stressed out.

It’s not as dramatic, but hey, at least I don’t feel like death warmed over, and the results stick around.
