GSX750R Mods: Best Ways to Upgrade Your Suzuki for More Power!

Must read

Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another project update. This time, it’s about my Suzuki GSX-R750. Yeah, you heard that right, the beast itself. I’ve been itching to get my hands dirty and really see what this machine can do. So, let’s dive into what I’ve been up to.

GSX750R Mods: Best Ways to Upgrade Your Suzuki for More Power!

First off, I spent a good chunk of time just staring at the bike, trying to figure out where to start. I mean, it’s a GSX-R750, it’s pretty damn good right out of the box. But you know me, I can’t leave well enough alone. After a lot of thought and some back-and-forth, I decided the first thing to tackle was the exhaust. Stock is fine, but we want that roar, right?

So, I went with a CS racing full exhaust. I got it installed, no major issues there. Felt good to get that done. That’s one step closer to making this bike truly mine. Then, I moved on to the air filter. Decided to swap out the stock one for a K&N filter. Figured it couldn’t hurt to let the engine breathe a bit better.

But I didn’t stop there. Oh no. I also thought, “Why not mess with the sprockets and chain?” So, I went for a 520 kit, did a 1-/+2 setup. It is a common mod. Now, I’ve heard this can throw off the speedometer, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, I’m just enjoying the process of tinkering and tweaking.

I’ve been reading up on some other popular mods, too. I saw some guys talking about a quick shifter, and honestly, I’m on the fence about it. Is it really worth it? Still need to look into it.

And let’s not forget about protection. I’m considering some sliders, but I haven’t picked out a specific set yet. Safety first, right? And then there’s the whole discussion about a Dyno tune and possibly a 1000cc cam swap. That’s getting into some serious territory, and I’m not sure I’m ready to go that far yet. But man, the thought of squeezing out every last bit of power is tempting.

Next Steps

For now, I’m pretty happy with the progress. The bike sounds meaner, and it feels a bit more responsive. But I know there’s still a lot more that can be done. I’m thinking about doing the throttle tube or insulating the intake box, but there’re a bunch of things to be considered. Maybe I will try a Dyno tune next.

I’ll keep you guys updated as I go. This is a journey, and I’m enjoying every step of it. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions. Your boy is always open to ideas. Until next time, ride safe and keep the rubber side down.
