Man, what a crazy ride it’s been trying to become the best in the 110-meter hurdles! Let me tell you, it’s been a wild journey, full of ups and downs, but totally worth it.

First off, I started training like a madman. Every day, I hit the track, pushing myself harder and harder. I remember those early mornings, the sun barely up, and there I was, running and jumping, running and jumping. It was tough, no doubt.
Then came the competitions. The U.S. track trials were a big one. I ran my heart out and finished in 12.86 seconds! That’s like, the fourth-fastest time ever! I couldn’t believe it. I was so pumped!
- Training hard every single day.
- Competing in the U.S. track trials.
- Scoring one of the fastest times in history.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were times I doubted myself. I mean, being an athlete is not just about the physical stuff. It’s also about the mental game. You gotta stay focused, even when things get tough.
I watched this video, a TikTok from NBC Olympics & Paralympics. It showed the moment I tied my own world record in Belgrade. Seeing that, it gave me a huge boost. It reminded me of what I was capable of.
And then, the Olympics! Being there was surreal. All those amazing athletes, the energy, the excitement… it was incredible. I was nervous, I won’t lie. But I knew I had to give it my all.

The Big Race
The race itself was a blur. I remember the starting gun, the rush of adrenaline, and then just pure focus. Every hurdle, every step, I was pushing myself to the limit. And then, crossing the finish line… it was the best feeling ever!
To become an Olympic champion, especially with a time of 12.99, it’s just… wow. It’s a dream come true. All those years of hard work, all the sacrifices, it all paid off.
Someone mentioned IOC President Thomas Bach, a fencing Olympic champion from ’76. He said something about tensions in the world, but that didn’t matter at that time. At that moment, I was just thinking about my race and my win.
There’s this other video, “Athletes React Grant Holloway,” where I talk about the 2022 final. It was a dramatic race, for sure. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out. It brings back a lot of memories.
So yeah, that’s my story. From training day in and day out to becoming an Olympic champion. It’s been a hell of a ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I just want everyone to remember that hard work really pays off. And if you can dream it you can achieve it. Peace out!
