Fun things to do Fenway Park neighborhood? (Discover great places around the stadium)

Must read

My Trip to Fenway Park

So, I finally made it over to Fenway Park the other day. Heard about it forever, figured it was time to see what all the fuss was about. It’s one of those places, you know? You just gotta check it out yourself.

Getting there wasn’t too bad. Hopped on the T, which drops you pretty close. You walk a bit, and then bam, there it is. Doesn’t look massive from the outside, not like those new stadiums. It’s all brick and kinda tucked into the neighborhood. Feels old, but in a good way.

First thing I did was just walk around outside. Headed over to Yawkey Way – think they call it Jersey Street now, whatever. It was packed. Fans everywhere, street vendors, music playing. You could smell the sausages and popcorn. That pre-game buzz, you know? It really gets you going. Took a bunch of pictures of the statues too, Ted Williams and those guys.

Food was next on the list. Had to get a Fenway Frank. It’s like a rule or something. Grabbed one from a stand, found a spot to lean, and just soaked it all in. Tasted pretty good, maybe it’s just the atmosphere.

  • Checked out the player statues
  • Got myself a Fenway Frank
  • Looked around the team store (didn’t buy anything, just looked)

Inside the Ballpark

Okay, then I went inside. Finding my seat was an adventure, place is a bit of a maze. But when I got there, wow. It’s way smaller feeling inside than you’d think. Everything feels really close to the field. No bad seats, maybe? Mine were pretty decent.

And that Green Monster. It’s huge! Looks even bigger in person than on TV. Saw some folks sitting up there. Must be a wild view. The whole park just feels… different. Not slick and modern. It’s got character. You can almost feel the history, all the games played there.

Watched the game, of course. Saw a few innings, cheered with the crowd. The best part? When they played “Sweet Caroline”. Everyone singing along, arms waving. Cheesy? Maybe a little. But it was fun, felt like part of something.

Didn’t stay for the whole game, had to head out. But walking away, I kept thinking about it. It’s not just about baseball. It’s about the history, the feeling of the place, sharing it with all those fans. Definitely worth doing. Glad I finally went.
