Alright guys, just wrestled with a super annoying issue today – photos taken with my ft app were vanishing into thin air after I snapped them. Thought I’d walk you through exactly what happened and how I finally got those precious pics to stick around. No fancy jargon, just the real mess I waded through.

The Frustrating Discovery
Everything seemed fine at first. I whipped out my phone to grab a quick shot of my morning coffee setup using the ft cam, hit the shutter. Got the usual little preview thumbnail popping up – cool. Went about my business. Came back later wanting to send that pic to a buddy, but guess what? Couldn’t find it anywhere. Not in my main camera roll, not hiding in some obscure album. Poof. Gone.
Okay, don’t panic. Maybe I just forgot to hit save? Took another test picture. Same thing: thumbnail shows up briefly, then vanishes without a trace. Definitely not saving. Time to dig in.
Poking Around Like a Mad Scientist
First things first, I checked the obvious stuff:
- Did the app have permission to access my storage? Yep, Settings > Apps > FT showed Storage permission was granted. Check.
- Was my phone storage completely full? Nope, still had plenty of space. Not that.
- Tried the classic “turn it off and on again” move. Killed the ft app completely, restarted it. Took another pic. Still ghosting on me.
Hmm. Getting more annoying. Maybe the app itself needed an update? Jumped over to the store. Nada. Already up-to-date. Great.
Deeper Into the Settings Bog
This is where I started digging in menus like an archaeologist. Opened the ft app, went hunting for its own camera settings. Buried deep, I found something called “Save Location” or maybe it was “Photo Storage Path”? Honestly, the label wasn’t super clear. Clicked on it. Saw two options:

- Option A: Save to ft private album
- Option B: Save to device gallery
Guess where it was set? “ft private album.” Like… what even is that? I never set this thing to hide my pictures away in its own secret vault! This felt like a recent app update might have sneakily changed it.
Tapped the other option: “Save to device gallery.” Felt hopeful. Crossed my fingers. Took another picture. Waited…
The Moment of Truth
Instead of just glancing at the thumbnail and moving on, I immediately exited the camera, went straight to my phone’s main Gallery app. Started swiping through my photos…
And there it was! My glorious, slightly blurry test photo! Sitting happily in my camera roll where it belongs! Victory!
Took a few more snaps just to be sure. Every single one landed perfectly in my regular photos, no more disappearing acts.

Lesson Learned (The Obvious One)
So yeah, the fix was ridiculously simple once I found the right setting. That “where to save photos” option inside the app itself was the sneaky culprit. Changed it from its own weird little silo back to the normal gallery, problem solved.
Moral of the story? Apps sometimes update and change stuff you weren’t expecting. Check their own settings first, especially if something basic like saving photos suddenly stops working. Could save you a bunch of head-scratching.
