So I got my hands on Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 yesterday and thought, man, somebody’s gotta map out these NPCs and their gigs. Grabbed my controller, fired up the PS5, and jumped straight into Battle Royale mode.

Where I Started Hunting
First thing: Hit the map screen to scope locations. Remembered last season’s spots were mostly outdated now with all the desert changes. Spawned near Brutal Beachhead because I saw chatter online about NPCs hanging near vehicle spots there. Ran around cracking open weapon cases while scanning for characters – took maybe three matches before I spotted my first one near a crashed sandcrawler.
NPC Goldmine at Rebel’s Roost
Jackpot moment: Found FOUR NPCs clustered around Rebel’s Roost! Here’s the breakdown after chatting with all of them:
- Vengeance Jones standing by the gas station – pays 500 gold to mark nearby players on your map for 30 seconds. Absolute steal for solo players!
- Silas lurking in the basement garage – dude hands out a free Mythic Drum Gun if you complete his target practice minigame. Missed twice and still got it.
- Lumina patrolling the rooftops – her “protection” job sucks though. Costs 750 gold just for a lousy med-mist spray.
- Rustler by the horse stables – easiest gold ever. Pays 300 just to tame wild animals nearby. Petted two raptors and cashed in.
Pro tip: These guys reset every match but their locations stay fixed. Memorize Rebel’s Roost route for quick gold farming.
Wasteland Warriors & Weirdos
Searched the whole desert biome afterward. Took forever driving that junk car across dunes. Found:
- Mancake at Brutal Beachhead – sells turret ammo (useless unless you find mounted guns)
- Quackling near the oasis – expensive mythic purchase at 1200 gold but gives an explosive bow that shreds vehicles
- Fish Thicc hiding in cactus valley – worst deal. “Salvage assistance” job pays YOU to destroy cars nearby. Got 200 gold for smashing two sedans.
Final Thoughts After Grinding
Honestly? This season’s NPC system feels half-baked. Some offer killer perks like Jones or Rustler, but others charge insane gold for garbage services. Wish they’d balance the payouts better. Still – totally worth landing at Rebel’s Roost every drop if you need quick gold or weapons.
