Okay, so the Super Bowl’s “Kick of Destiny” thing, right? I decided to give it a shot myself, just for kicks (pun intended!).
Setting Up
First, I grabbed a football from the garage. It was pretty dusty, hadn’t seen action in ages. I pumped it up, making sure it was nice and firm.
Then, I headed out to my backyard. It’s not exactly a football field, more like a slightly overgrown patch of grass, but it would do.
The Kick
- I placed the football on a makeshift tee – an old flower pot turned upside down. Classy, I know.
- I took a few steps back, trying to remember how the pros do it. My form was probably terrible, but hey, I was having fun.
- I ran towards the ball, gave it my best shot, and… well, let’s just say it didn’t exactly go soaring through the uprights. It kinda wobbled through the air and landed with a sad little thud a few yards away.
The Aftermath
Okay, so my “Kick of Destiny” was more like a “Kick of Mild Disappointment.” But hey, I tried it! And it was a good excuse to get outside and get a bit of exercise. Maybe next year I’ll practice a bit more beforehand. Or maybe I’ll just stick to watching the pros.
