Alright, let me tell you how I managed to get traded in MLB The Show 23’s Road to the Show mode. It wasn’t easy, lemme tell ya!
Started Off Suckin’ (On Purpose!)
First thing I did? I made a dude who… well, wasn’t exactly a superstar out of the gate. I’m talkin’ low stats across the board. My batting average was pathetic, my fielding was suspect, and my base running? Forget about it. I WANTED to be bad. Why? Because a team that’s winning isn’t gonna wanna trade for some scrub. They want winners!
- Purposefully made bad choices during games. Swing at everything! Miss everything!
- Didn’t bother upgrading my player’s stats much. Save those training points for later.
- Generally just phoned it in. I’m talkin’ REALLY phoned it in.
Made Some Noise (The Bad Kind)
Next up, it was time to ruffle some feathers. In RTTS, you get these little interactions with your agent, your manager, teammates, etc. I started choosin’ the options that would make me look like a complainer. I’d complain about playing time, complain about my position, complain about… well, anything I could find to complain about. Think of it as being a low-key clubhouse cancer.
Played… Poorly… Consistently
Now, it was important to keep this up. I couldn’t suddenly become a star. I had to be consistently mediocre (or worse). This is where the patience comes in. You gotta grind through those at-bats, making sure you’re not accidentally hitting a grand slam or somethin’.
Finally, The Trade!
After about a season and a half of stinkin’ it up and makin’ a fuss, the magic happened. I got the notification that my team was lookin’ to trade me. Hallelujah! A few days later, BAM! Traded to a team that was desperate for… something. Probably just a warm body.
Why did I do this?
Look, maybe you’re askin’ why I’d intentionally sabotage my player. Well, I wanted to see if it was possible. Plus, I wanted to go to a specific team later on. Easier to get there if you’re on the trade block!
Important Notes:
- This ain’t a guaranteed method. Sometimes, teams are just stubborn.
- It takes time. Be prepared to grind.
- Don’t get TOO good. Remember, you’re tryin’ to get traded, not win the MVP.
