Ducati 848 2013 Review: A Look Back at This Italian Beauty and its Performance.

Must read

This big bike, they call it Ducati 848, came out in 2013, I heard. It’s a real fancy one, all shiny and fast, not like the old tractors we used to ride on the farm.

They say it’s got this engine, a Testastretta Evoluzione. Sounds like a mouthful, right? It’s a strong one, I reckon. Makes it go real fast, like a rooster chasing a hen. Not that I know much about these things, but that’s what the young folks say.

Ducati 848 2013 Engine Power

The 2013 Ducati 848 EVO, they added some more power to it. Like feeding a skinny pig to make it fatter. Now it’s got 140 hp. Whatever that means. More power, I guess. Probably makes it go even faster. They say it used to have only 134 hp. That extra 6 hp must make a big difference if you’re racing this thing.

Ducati 848 2013 Look and Style

It’s all covered up in these panels, they call it a full fairing. Keeps the wind off you, I suppose. Like wearing a big coat in the winter. They say it was a sports bike. Full fairing. Whatever that means. Just means it’s all covered up, I reckon.

  • It’s got two wheels, of course.
  • A seat for one person, I think.
  • And handlebars, just like a bicycle.

This one, they say it’s got special colors. Matte black and matte grey. Sounds boring to me. Like an old, dusty road. They say it’s the “Ducati Corse Test Team livery.” Sounds important, I guess. But I’d rather have a bright red one, like a fire truck.

Ducati 848 2013 Weight and Tank

They made the gas tank out of aluminum. That’s that shiny metal, right? Makes it lighter, they say. Like taking the stones out of your shoes before you walk up a hill. 167 kg, dry weight. That’s still heavy, ain’t it? But I guess it’s light for a big bike like this. And it can hold more gas now. 2.5 L more. That’s like carrying an extra bucket of water, just in case.

Ducati 848 2013 History

This Ducati 848, it came after another one, the 749. Like a new calf replacing an old cow. And then they stopped making it in 2013. Made a new one, the 899. Always changing, these young folks. Never satisfied with what they have.

They made this Ducati 848 for a few years, from 2008 to 2013. That’s not very long, is it? Like a summer romance. Here today, gone tomorrow. It was for people who wanted a fast bike, but not the fastest one. Like wanting a horse that’s quick, but not a racehorse. Makes sense, I guess. Not everyone wants to go that fast. It was an entry-level sportbike, they call it.

Ducati 848 2013 Performance

They say this Ducati 848 is just as fast as the bigger ones, in the real world. Whatever that means. I guess it means on regular roads, not on a racetrack. Like saying a mule can pull a cart just as well as a horse, on a regular path. This bike has 103 kW power. Sounds like a lot of electricity. And 98 N⋅m torque. I don’t know what that is. But it sounds powerful. Like a strong ox pulling a plow.

Some folks say they know people who have these Ducati 848 bikes. Ride them on the track. That’s a place where they race, I think. Like a horse race, but with bikes. They say these bikes don’t break down much. That’s good, I reckon. Don’t want to be stuck on the side of the road with a broken bike.

Well, that’s all I know about this Ducati 848 2013. It’s a fast bike, I guess. For people who like that sort of thing. Me, I’m happy with my two feet. They don’t need gas, and they don’t go too fast. But they always get me where I need to go.

This bike has an 895 cc engine, that’s what they told me, and 103.25 bhp max power, so it can go real fast. And that max torque is 93 Nm, whatever that means. It’s a big, strong bike, that’s for sure. It’s all numbers to me, but the young folks seem to like it. They like to go fast, those young ones. Faster than a greased piglet at the county fair.

So, if you like fast bikes, this Ducati 848 2013 might be the one for you. It’s got a big engine, a fancy look, and it’s lighter than it used to be. Just be careful out there on the road. It’s a long way down if you fall off one of these things. Remember, slow and steady wins the race, like the old saying goes. Or at least, that’s what this old lady thinks.
