Okay, so, I’ve been a huge fan of Donovan Mitchell for a while now. I mean, the guy’s a beast on the court, right? When I heard he was teaming up with Adidas, I was pretty stoked. I started following their collaboration closely back in, like, 2017.
First, I did some digging online, ’cause you gotta know what you’re getting into. I found out that Donovan actually started wearing Adidas back in his college days at Louisville. Then, in 2015, he officially signed with them. That’s when things really started to get interesting.
I kept an eye out for any news, and bam! In 2019, they dropped his first signature shoe, the D.O.N. series. I was hyped! I remember seeing him rock those Forums at the Cardinals game – the “Louisville” ones, you know? That made me even more excited to get my hands on a pair of his signature kicks.
I watched every game I could, and I saw him wearing different versions of the D.O.N. shoes. Then, there was this one time, I saw him promoting the shoes and taking questions from some young athletes. You could tell he was really passionate about them, and that got me even more pumped.
Fast forward a bit, and boom – the D.O.N. Issue #6 “Spida Bite” was announced. Now, I’m a sucker for anything with a cool nickname, and “Spida Bite”? Come on, that’s awesome. I had to have them.

When they arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I ripped open the box, and there they were. The design was sick, and the “Spida Bite” theme was even cooler in person. I laced them up and took them for a spin. The comfort, the grip, everything was on point. I knew I made the right choice.
So yeah, that’s my story of getting my hands on the Donovan Mitchell D.O.N. Issue #6 “Spida Bite” shoes. It was a bit of a journey, but totally worth it. Now, I’m rocking these kicks with pride, feeling like I’ve got a little piece of Spida’s game with me every time I wear them.
