Okay, so I wanted to really see what this Derrick Henry stiff arm was all about. I’d seen the highlights, the dude just tossing defenders like they’re ragdolls. I figured, there’s gotta be more to it than just being a big dude, right?

Getting Started
First thing I did was watch a bunch of game footage. Not just the highlight reels, but full games, focusing on Henry. I wanted to see how he set it up, what his footwork looked like, everything.
- Observation:It’s not just raw power. It is, of course, He’s a beast. But it’s also about timing and leverage.
Breaking it Down
I started trying to mimic the motion, just standing in my living room. Felt kinda silly, but I wanted to get a feel for the basic movement.
Pushing my arm out, trying to imagine a defender coming at me. I noticed a few things right away:
- Body position: Henry keeps his body low and uses the arm.
- The Arm Angle:It’s not straight, and his arm is slightly bend. To creat maximum force.
The Practice
I am practicing every day, use the body position and the Arm Angle that I learned from Derrick Henry. I set up a dummy to make it real. Although it’s just a dummy, I do learn the skills, that’s for sure.

I keep practicing, try to do the same motion to anyone I meet. Of course I am just kidding, I am not hitting people. Maybe someday, I can do the same thing as Derrick Henry does.
