Well, let’s talk about them Cubs team stats 2024. That’s what folks are searchin’ for, right? This old gal ain’t no expert, but I hear things. I hear them Cubs, they been playin’ some baseball this year. Some good, some bad, like always. That’s what them Cubs stats tell ya!
They started way back, they say. 1876. Called somethin’ else then. White Stockings. Now they’re the Chicago Cubs. Been that way since 1903. Long time, huh? And 2024 cubs team, oh boy, its record ain’t the best, but not bad I guess.
This 2024, they got some wins, they got some losses. Ain’t that how it always goes? Heard they got 83 wins and 79 losses last year, 2023 I mean. Not bad, not bad. This year, I hear folks sayin’ they’re 72 wins and 68 losses, somethin’ like that. They in second place in somethin’ called the NL Central. Don’t ask me what that is. Sounds fancy.
They got some fellas hittin’ the ball real good, I reckon. And some throwin’ it good, too. That’s what makes a baseball team, right? Hittin’ and throwin’.

- They got a new boss man, too. Craig somethin’. Supposed to be good.
Now, I hear some folks sayin’ they ain’t gonna make it to the big games. The, uh, the October games. Playoffs, they call ’em. The Mets, they beat the Phillies, and the Cubs, they lost to the Nationals. 5-1, I think. So, that’s that. No playoffs for them Cubs this year. Maybe next year, huh?
But they got some good players, I think. They got some fellas who can hit that ball a mile. I hear the batting average, that’s important. Don’t know what it means, but it’s important. They say it shows who’s the best at hittin’.
And they got some fellas who can throw that ball fast. Like lightnin’, they say. That’s important, too. Gotta have good throwers. Pitchers, they are called.
They got numbers all over the place. Numbers for this, numbers for that. Cubs players, they all got numbers. Who’s got the most home runs? Who’s got the best, uh, OBP? That’s another one of them fancy things. Means somethin’ about gettin’ on base, I think. Don’t rightly know.
This old gal, I just like watchin’ the game. Seein’ them boys run around, tryin’ to win. It’s excitin’. Even if they don’t win all the time. Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about them Cubs and their 2024 year. It ain’t over yet, but it’s lookin’ like it’s gonna be over soon. They’ll try again next year. That’s what they always do.
