codys wish horse pedigree: see what makes a winners bloodline!

Must read

Hey everyone, it’s your boy back at it again with another deep dive into the world of horse racing. Today, we’re talking about a horse that’s been making some serious waves, a real feel-good story, and that’s Cody’s Wish. I’ve been digging into his pedigree, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride!

So, I started out just poking around, you know, casual stuff. I knew Cody’s Wish was a big deal, heard the name buzzing around. Figured I’d check out what all the fuss was about. I just simply googled his name and found out he’s a G1 winner! That got my attention right off the bat.

Then I started looking into his lineage. This horse was bred in Kentucky by Godolphin Racing. And guess what? He’s trained by the legendary Bill Mott. But here’s the real kicker, the heartwarming part: Cody’s Wish is named after Cody Dorman, this brave kid from Kentucky who had Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome. This kid, Cody, he used a wheelchair and communicated with a tablet. The bond between him and the horse, man, it’s something else.

Diving deeper, I found some interesting stuff about his stud fees. We’re talking $75,000 and $25,000! Darren Fox, the Sales Manager at Darley, even said, “You couldn’t have written a better script on how Cody’s Wish would end his sensational career.” That really sums it up, doesn’t it? He always left it all on the track.

Tracing Back the Roots

Now, here’s where it gets really interesting for us pedigree nerds. I started looking at the major foundation sires. Turns out, each of them had a descendant, like a grandson or great-great-grandson, who carried on their male line. We’re talking about Matchem, who was a descendant of the Godolphin Arabian. Coincidences like that are just mind-blowing, right?

Digging Through Stats

I also went on a hunt for performance stats. I mean, who doesn’t love numbers? There are stallions whose progeny, you know, their offspring, make them top sires. Top 100 nationally, or top 25 in a state. It’s all about runners, winners, and those coveted stakes winners.

I stumbled upon landing pages that had all sorts of information, like Stud Record and Sales Record for Cody’s Wish. Super useful stuff. And, of course, I had to check out past performances, speed figures, results. The whole nine yards.

Then I went down the rabbit hole of his sire and dam. Sire is Curlin! And Endorsed, the son of Medaglia d’Oro, another amazing horse, has 7 wins! It’s in his blood!

This whole process was pretty interesting. I mean, I was just a guy curious about a famous horse, and I ended up uncovering this whole story, this legacy. It’s a testament to the horse, the people around him, and the sport itself.

So yeah, that’s my little adventure into the pedigree of Cody’s Wish. Hope you guys enjoyed the ride. It’s been a blast sharing it with you. Until next time, keep digging, keep exploring, and keep those stories coming!
