Well, well, well, lookie here! It’s 2024, and them Cleveland Guardians, they got themselves a whole new bunch of fellas playing ball. I tell ya, it ain’t like the old days, no sir. But these young’uns, they got some pep in their step, I reckon.
They say this fella, Andres Gimenez, he’s gonna be leading the whole shebang. They call it “leadoff.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? I heard he’s a shortstop, whatever that means. Just means he’s good at catchin’ that little ball, I suppose. He’s got some number, 109 “wRC+” or somethin’. Sounds like a whole lot of mumbo jumbo to me. But folks say he can hit that ball real good. Hope he can run fast, too! That’s the name of the game, right? Runnin’ fast and hittin’ hard.
They got a whole list of these boys. Some new, some been around the block a time or two. They say they need to fill some holes, whatever that means. Like a hole in your sock, I guess? Just gotta get a new one, or patch it up real good. That’s what these big-shot managers do, I reckon. Patch up the holes with new players.
I heard some folks sayin’ this new team is gonna be a real humdinger. A real force to be reckoned with. I don’t know about all that, but I sure hope they win some games. Winning is always more fun than losing, that’s for darn sure.
This Clase fella, he was a big shot last year. Saved a bunch of games, 47 they say! But then, in them big playoff games, he kinda messed up. Gave up some big hits, to some fellas named Carpenter, Judge, and Stanton. Sounds like a carpenter and a judge, huh? Funny names for ball players.
They say these fellas are “projected” to be starters. Projected, what in the Sam Hill does that mean? Sounds like some fancy schoolin’ talk. Just means they think these are the guys gonna play the most, I guess.

- Clase, he’s gonna try to save games again, hope he does better this time.
- They got a whole bunch of other fellas, too many to name.
Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy names and numbers. We just played ball! But I guess times are changin’. They even changed the team’s name a few years back, remember that? Used to be the Indians, now they’re the Guardians. Don’t make much difference to me, long as they play good ball.
They got some young fellas, just gettin’ their feet wet, they say. Learnin’ the ropes. Back in my day, we learned by doin’, not by watchin’ some fancy videos or readin’ some fancy books. Just get out there and play, that’s what we did!
These front office folks, they’re always schemin’ and plannin’. Tryin’ to figure out who to put where, like it’s some big puzzle. I guess it is, in a way. Gotta find the right pieces to make the whole thing work.
They say a new manager can change things. Like a new sheriff in town, I guess. Shake things up a bit. We’ll see if this new fella can get these boys to playin’ good ball.
They got these “depth charts” too. From Cleveland all the way down to Arizona, wherever that is. Sounds like a long way to go just to play ball. Back in my day, we just played whoever was in town. Didn’t need to go gallivantin’ all over the country.
Cleveland Guardians projected lineup 2024, that’s what they’re callin’ it. Sounds important, don’t it? Like they got it all figured out. But you never really know what’s gonna happen ’til they start playin’ the games. That’s the fun of it, I reckon. The not knowin’.
I just hope they bring some excitement to Cleveland. That town could use a little pick-me-up. A winning team can do wonders for a town’s spirit, you know? Gets everybody all fired up.
