They got their numbers and their… whatchamacallits… their stats. They say this Mullins, he’s a good hitter. He hits the ball far, they say. I don’t know. I think maybe I saw him on TV once.

Some folks, they say you gotta pick him early in this fantasy game. Like pickin’ the best hog at the county fair. Others say you can wait. I don’t know who is right. I guess he is pretty good. They say he’s worth a lot of points.
And there is also draft. What is draft? You pick one by one. You want good one. This Mullins is a good one. This Cedric Mullins fantasy, it is all about draft. If you want to win, you have to draft.
Then there is this thing called ADP. Sounds like some kinda government program. But it ain’t. It’s somethin’ about where you pick this Mullins fella. High number, low number. They said draft position. I got no idea. Too complicated for me.

You gotta be aggressive, they say. Like a rooster protectin’ his hens. Gotta go after the players you want. Don’t be shy. Just like when you’re at the church potluck, gotta get in line early for the best pie. And this Mullins is good. He is like good pie.
They got all these websites, too. With news and… I don’t know what all. They tell you if this Mullins fella is hurt or if he’s doin’ good. Lots of information about Cedric Mullins stats. Like readin’ the Farmer’s Almanac, I suppose. Except it’s about baseball instead of the weather.
I heard some folks sayin’ they dropped him. Like droppin’ a hot potato. Said he wasn’t doin’ so good for a while. He is not good? Then why pick him? But then they picked him back up. He is good again? These fantasy folks change their minds more than the weather in springtime.
If you have 10 teams, you have to drop him. If you have 14 teams, you have to keep him. I don’t know why. They say you should have Cedric Mullins ranking. You should know he is good or bad. They have expert. I am not expert.
So, this Cedric Mullins fantasy thing, it’s a mystery to me. But the young folks seem to like it. Keeps ’em busy, I reckon. Better than gettin’ into trouble. And who knows, maybe I’ll try it sometime. If I can figure out all these numbers and such.
