Okay, so I’ve been meaning to check out the Stanislaus Golf Course for a while now. Heard some good things, and I’m always up for trying a new course. So, this weekend, I finally made it happen.

First thing I did was check out the weather, it seems * I looked on Google Maps for the right route. It’s not too far from my place, maybe a 30-minute drive, which is perfect.
Getting There and Getting Ready
Saturday morning, I loaded up my clubs, tossed some water and snacks in a bag, and hit the road. The drive was pretty easy, mostly highway, and I found the course no problem. Plenty of parking, which is always a good start.
I checked in at the pro shop. The guy there was friendly, gave me a scorecard, and pointed me towards the first tee. I did a few stretches – gotta loosen up those old bones! – and took a couple of practice swings. Felt good, felt ready.
The Course Itself
The course was in pretty good shape, overall. The fairways were nicely mowed, and the greens looked fast. I love a course with rolling hills, nothing too crazy.
- Hole 1: Started with a decent drive, a little to the right, but playable. Ended up with a bogey. Not bad, not great.
- Hole 4: This one had a water hazard that I totally misjudged. Plunked my ball right in the drink. Took a penalty, naturally. Double bogey. Ugh.
- Hole 9: Finished the front nine with a par, which felt like a major victory after that water disaster.
- Hole 13: This is a long par * a good drive, great second shot.
I played through the back nine, making some good shots, making some bad shots. That’s golf, right?

Wrapping Up
Finished the round, and my score wasn’t my best, but it wasn’t my worst either. I had a good time, enjoyed the sunshine, and got some exercise. Can’t complain about that.
I headed back to the pro shop, turned in my *, I’d say Stanislaus is a solid course.I’ll definitely go back, next time I’m I’ll be aiming to not donate any balls to the water hazard.
