Okay, so today I wanna talk about this thing I got into with some buddies. We’re all huge NBA fans, right? And we were going back and forth about the worst contracts in the league. It’s like this fun little game we play. We call it the “Worst Contracts Draft”.

So, I started digging into it. Checked out some podcasts, you know, like Bill Simmons – he’s got this whole thing on The Ringer about it. Heard him chatting with Joe House and Wosny Lambre about it, which was pretty entertaining. They were throwing names around, debating who’s got the worst deal.
And of course, Ben Simmons’ name popped up. I mean, the guy’s making, like, 40 million this season, right? That’s a lot of dough. I dove deeper, reading articles and stuff, and yeah, his contract is definitely up there among the worst.
Our Draft Process
- First, we all made a list of players we thought had terrible contracts.
- Then, we got together, argued about it, and did our own little draft.
- It was hilarious, man. Everyone’s got their own opinions, you know?
I also stumbled upon this tidbit about Jayson Tatum’s new contract with the Celtics. 314 million! That’s crazy money, the biggest contract in NBA history, apparently. Just puts things into perspective, you know? It makes you think about what “value” really means in the NBA.
I even recalled some drama about Jimmy Butler and the Heat. Seems like there’s some tension there because they didn’t offer him an extension. It’s a wild business, this whole NBA thing. Players aren’t even the ones who negotiate with their agent. They just sit and wait for the phone call.
Anyways, we had a blast with our little draft. It’s always fun to kick back with friends, talk hoops, and debate these things. And hey, it gave me something to ramble about today. That’s all there is to it, really. It wasn’t anything super serious, just some good old-fashioned NBA talk.

Finished up my little research project, shared my findings with the guys, and we had a good laugh. It is always nice to see some familiar names and some surprising names.
