Okay, so I’ve been playing a ton of Disney Dreamlight Valley lately. It’s super chill and I’ve been trying to cook every recipe. I saw “Fish Steak” and figured, “How hard could that be?” Well, let me tell you about my little adventure.

Getting Started
First, I opened up the game and ran to my kitchen. I checked my cookbook, just to make sure I wasn’t missing anything obvious. Fish Steak… seemed simple enough. The image showed a fish and, well, what looked like some veggies.
The First Attempt (and Fail)
I grabbed the first fish I had in my inventory – I think it was a Herring – and then I tossed in a tomato. I mean, tomatoes are in everything, right? I hit the cook button and… bam! Grilled Fish. Not a Fish Steak. Oops.
Figuring It Out
Okay, back to the drawing board. I thought to myself, “What else goes with fish?” I remembered seeing something about basil, and it seemed more “steak-like” than a tomato. So, I went outside and harvested some basil from my garden.
The Second Attempt (Success!)
This time, I selected a fish (I think it was still that Herring, bless its little pixelated heart) and carefully added the basil. I held my breath and started the cooking process… and there it was! A perfect Fish Steak! I actually yelled, “Yes!” a little too loud. My cat gave me a weird look.
My Notes
- Fish: Pretty much any fish will do. I used a Herring, but I’m sure others work just fine.
- Ingredient: Basil! That’s the secret. Don’t be like me and waste a perfectly good tomato.
So yeah, that’s how I figured out the Fish Steak recipe in Dreamlight Valley. It was a bit of a trial-and-error process, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Now, I can make Fish Steaks whenever I want, and my virtual villagers are very happy (or at least, I assume they are). Happy cooking!
