Must read

Alright, let’s talk about this snake draft thing I did with 12 teams. It was a wild ride, let me tell you.

So, I gathered 11 of my buddies, we all love this stuff, and we decided to do a fantasy football league. We opted for a snake draft because, honestly, it just feels fairer, you know? It was time to kill the snake, and this snake draft was set to be interesting.

First things first, we had to figure out the draft order. We drew numbers out of a hat. Classic, right? I ended up with the 5th pick. Not too shabby, not the best, but I could work with it.

The Draft Begins

The draft started, and man, it was intense. The first four picks went pretty much as expected. A lot of running backs. Then it was my turn. I had my eye on this wide receiver, a real game-changer. I grabbed him, and boom, first pick in the bag. I felt pretty good about that.

Then the snake snaked its way back. The 12th pick got two in a row, then 11th, 10th, and so on. It was my turn again before I knew it. This time, I needed a solid quarterback. There were still a few good ones on the board, so I snagged one of them. Bam, two rounds done.

The Middle Rounds

  • Round 3: I picked up another wide receiver. Depth is key, folks.
  • Round 4: Grabbed a decent running back. Not a superstar, but reliable.
  • Round 5: Time for a tight end. Found a guy who I think is gonna surprise some people.
  • Rounds 6-9: Filled out my roster with a mix of running backs, wide receivers, and a defense. You gotta have a good defense!

We kept going like this, back and forth. It was a grind. You really have to think about your needs, who’s available, and who you think other people might pick. It’s like a chess match, but with more yelling.

The Final Stretch

Towards the end, I focused on grabbing a kicker and a backup quarterback. Gotta have those backups, man. Injuries happen, bye weeks happen, you gotta be prepared. I also picked up a defense that I think could be a sleeper hit.

Finally, after a few hours, it was over. We all had our teams. I looked at my roster, and I felt pretty good. I think I’ve got a solid squad. Of course, you never really know until the season starts, but hey, that’s half the fun.

So yeah, that’s how my 12-team snake draft went down. It was a blast, and I’m pumped for the season. We’ll see how my team does, but I’m feeling optimistic. Wish me luck!
