Alright, alright, let’s talk Hawks! So, a buddy of mine, he’s a HUGE Hawks fan, right? Always bugging me to watch a game with him. I’m more of a casual sports watcher myself, but I figured, why not? Needed something to do on a Tuesday night anyway.

First thing I did? Figured out when they were playing. Jumped onto Google, typed in “Atlanta Hawks schedule,” and bam! Easy peasy. Saw they had a game against the Knicks (poor Knicks, always getting dunked on, figuratively and literally). Scheduled for 7:30 PM.
Next, the big question: how the heck am I gonna watch this thing? I don’t have cable anymore, cut that cord ages ago. So, started looking into streaming options.
My Process:
- Tried the Obvious: Checked ESPN’s website and app since it’s an NBA game. Nope, needed a cable subscription. Bummer.
- Dabbled with League Pass: Considered NBA League Pass, you know, the official NBA streaming service. Looked at the price, though, and choked a little. For one game? Nah, that’s a bit much for a first-timer.
- Sailed the High Seas (Almost): My buddy suggested some… less than legal streaming sites. I’m not gonna lie, I considered it. But then I remembered that one time I downloaded a movie and got, like, five different viruses. So, yeah, hard pass on that. My laptop is my life.
- Hit the Free Trial Jackpot: That’s when I remembered I had a free trial of YouTube TV sitting around doing nothing. Signed up in like 2 minutes and BOOM. Got ESPN, TNT, everything. Score!
Got everything set up, ordered some pizza (Hawks and pizza, a perfect match, right?), and settled in. My buddy came over, ready to cheer on his team.
The game itself? It was alright. Some crazy dunks, some questionable calls by the refs (always a good source of entertainment), and the Hawks actually pulled out a win! My buddy was ecstatic, of course. He was yelling at the tv most of the time. It was entertaining.

My Verdict?
Honestly, watching the Hawks wasn’t bad at all. YouTube TV saved the day. It was a fun night, good company, and surprisingly exciting basketball. I might even watch another game sometime. Who knows, maybe I’ll even become a Hawks fan myself! (Don’t tell my buddy I said that.)
