Okay, so you wanna hear about this “Below Deck Reunion 2024” thing I was messing around with? Buckle up, it’s a bit of a ride.

First off, the idea. I was watching some clips of the show (don’t judge!), and I got thinking about how they always do these reunion episodes. Then BAM! It hit me, I wanna make a little something-something for fun, so I can share it on my blog.
The Plan: Basically, I wanted to create a fake “reunion” scenario using some AI tools and video editing. The goal? To make it look somewhat believable, at least enough to get a chuckle out of my readers.
Here’s what I did, step by step:
- Gathering the Crew (Data, that is): I spent way too long scouring YouTube and other sites for clips of the “Below Deck” cast. Needed good quality stuff where they were talking and reacting. This took FOREVER.
- AI Voice Cloning: This was the tricky part. I used some online AI voice cloning tools (I ain’t gonna name ’em, do your own research!). I fed them snippets of the cast’s voices and tried to get them to “learn” how each person sounded. It was hit or miss, some voices worked better than others.
- Scriptwriting (Sort Of): I jotted down some notes on what I wanted the “reunion” to cover. You know, classic reality TV drama – who’s hooking up with who, who hates who, that kind of stuff. I kept it light and tried to make it funny.
- AI Voice Generation: Here’s where I got the AI to “speak” the lines I wrote in my script. The results were… mixed. Some lines sounded okay, others were super robotic. I had to tweak the text and the AI settings a bunch of times to get something passable.
- Video Editing: This was the real grunt work. I pieced together the video clips I’d gathered, syncing them up with the AI-generated voices. I added in some reaction shots, tried to make it look like they were actually “responding” to each other. Lots of cutting, pasting, and cursing at my computer.
- Adding the Finishing Touches: Intro music, graphics, the whole shebang. I used some stock footage to make it look like a “real” TV show. Basically, I just slapped on whatever looked kinda professional-ish.
The Result? A goofy, slightly cringeworthy, but hopefully entertaining “Below Deck Reunion 2024” mock-up. It’s not perfect, the AI voices are a little wonky, and the editing is kinda rough around the edges. But hey, it was a fun project, and I learned a lot about AI and video editing along the way.
I’m planning to post it on my blog with a disclaimer saying it’s all fake, of course. Don’t want anyone thinking it’s the real deal! Hopefully, it’ll give people a laugh. If not, well, at least I had fun making it.

What I learned: AI voice cloning is cool, but it’s not quite there yet. Video editing is HARD work. And reality TV is probably even more ridiculous behind the scenes than it is on screen.
That’s pretty much it. A random, fun, and slightly nerdy project. Hope you enjoyed hearing about it!
