So, first off, I started hearing rumblings that Bally Sports’ parent company, Diamond Sports Group, was in trouble. But here’s where it gets really interesting. I caught wind of this new deal with FanDuel. Apparently, Diamond Sports made an agreement with them, and guess what? They’re rebranding Bally Sports to “FanDuel Sports Network”! I read about it in a court filing on October 16, 2024, and they officially made the announcement on October 18th, effective October 21st. How about that for a plot twist? I immediately marked this on my whiteboard to remind myself of this.
I went online and found out a few details to understand why this question is popping up. I also learned about the details of this bankruptcy in many news articles, and I tried to organize all the information on my notebook, and it really made me feel overwhelmed.
Now, I’m not a financial expert or anything, but this whole situation got me hooked. I had to get to the bottom of it. I’ve been following the news, reading articles, and even checking out some court filings (which, let me tell you, are not easy to understand!).
