Baku Sprint Weekend Schedule: Dont Miss a Thing (Everything You Need for the F1 Race)

Must read

Oh boy, let me tell you about my day. I decided to dive headfirst into the Baku Sprint, that crazy Formula 1 race in Azerbaijan. You know, the one they call one of the most exciting city tracks on the Formula 1 calendar? Yeah, that one. After a four-week break in the schedule, I was itching to see some action.

First thing I did was to check the schedule. I mean, you gotta plan your day, right? Especially when it comes to these Sprint races. And guess what? Formula 1 have confirmed a new sprint format for the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Fancy stuff! The Sprint qualifying was set to start at 12:30 pm local time. It’s a shorter version of the traditional qualifying session, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less intense.

So, I got myself all set up, snacks and drinks within arm’s reach. The new format meant that the qualifying session was split into three stages, kind of like a mini-tournament. The five slowest drivers are eliminated after the first stage. It’s brutal, but hey, that’s racing. The first of six designated F1 Sprint events this season will take place at this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

I watched as the drivers took to the Baku City Circuit. Man, that track is something else. Tight corners, long straights, it’s got it all. And with the new Sprint format, it was even more of a wild ride. I’m on the edge of my seat the whole time, cheering and yelling like a madman.

The Sprint race itself was a whirlwind. It started at 5:30 pm local time, and it was non-stop action from start to finish. Drivers were pushing their cars to the limit, trying to get ahead. It was intense. As was the case in 2023, there are six Sprint weekends this season. The first was hosted by China, as rain during Sprint Qualifying at the Shanghai International Circuit resulted in incredible entertainment.

By the end of it all, I was exhausted but thrilled. That Baku Sprint, it’s something else. If you’re a Formula 1 fan, you gotta check it out. Trust me, you won’t regret it. But if you are gonna do it, make sure you are prepared because it is one hell of a ride.

And that, my friends, is how I spent my day immersed in the world of Formula 1. It was a wild ride, but I loved every minute of it. Until the next race, stay fast!
