So, I stumbled upon this name, Andi Jackson, and I got curious. Turns out, she’s a volleyball player. And not just any player, a really good one. I started digging into her story, and man, it’s quite something.
She didn’t even start playing volleyball until she was 15. Can you believe that? Fifteen! Most people start way earlier. But when she tried, everyone was like, “Whoa, where did she come from?” She mentioned that she was what people call a late bloomer, having grown up engaging in all sorts of sports, like track, soccer, basketball, etc.
Fast forward a few years, and she’s playing for the USA volleyball team. She spent her entire summer doing that. I mean, that’s a big deal, right? It sounds like she’s got some serious skills. Her elite leaping abilities and attacking prowess usually mean the play results in a kill that electrifies the crowd.
And just recently, she won her first defensive player of the year award. I saw a video where someone was talking to her after a game against Arkansas, and she seemed pretty cool, pretty down to earth, even though she’s got this amazing talent, her first defensive player of the year award, and likely not the last.
It’s crazy how quickly she’s risen in the sport. From starting late to playing at such a high level, it’s really inspiring. I guess it shows that it’s never too late to find your passion and excel at it.
