Well, let me tell you, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout them MotoGP tracks. Sounds like a whole lot of fuss to me, but my grandson, he’s real into it. Says it’s excitin’ stuff, motorcycles goin’ faster than a greased piglet at the county fair.
MotoGP Tracks – Fast and Furious
These MotoGP tracks, they’re all over the place. One day they’re in one place, next day they are somewhere else. Just like them youngsters, never stayin’ put! They got all these fancy names, too. My grandson tried to tell me all of ’em, but my old head just can’t keep up.
This MotoGP thing, it’s like a big race, bigger than anything we got around here. They got these fellas, MotoGP champions they call ’em, ridin’ them motorcycles like bats outta hell. My grandson, he knows all their names. Rattles ’em off faster than I can shuck corn.
- Fast bikes
- Lots of noise
- People cheerin’
- Go ’round and ’round
He showed me some pictures once. Lots of colors, them bikes is. And the riders, they’re all done up in leather, lookin’ like spacemen or somethin’. They go so fast, makes my head spin just lookin’ at ’em. It’s like nothin’ I ever seen before, that’s for sure.
MotoGP Champions – Brave or Foolish?
Now, these MotoGP champions, they must be brave, or maybe just foolish. Ridin’ them bikes that fast, one little slip and they could be eatin’ dirt. But they sure do love it, you can see it in their eyes. Like a kid with a new puppy, all excited and full of beans.
They say it is a MotoGP history thing. These races, they been goin’ on for a long time, I reckon. Longer than I been alive, that’s for sure. Back in my day, we didn’t have nothin’ like this. We had horses, and we had that old jalopy that used to backfire somethin’ fierce. But nothin’ like these fancy motorcycles.
They got different tracks, all different shapes and sizes. Some is long, some is short. Some got lots of turns, like a snake windin’ through the grass. My grandson says some tracks are more popular than others. He said there are some popular MotoGP tracks, like, five of ’em or somethin’. More folks go to them, I guess. Like how folks flock to Mildred’s pie stand at the church social.
This one track, he said it’s called “Brno”. Sounds like a fella I used to know, name of Bruno. Anyway, he said it is in some place far away, needs a ticket. And you gotta figure out how to get there, where to park your car. Sounds like a whole lot of bother to me.
MotoGP 23 – Newfangled Contraption
And then there’s this MotoGP 23 thing. My grandson, he’s all excited about it. Says it’s a game, like them video games he plays. But this one’s got all them MotoGP tracks in it. He can pretend to be one of them MotoGP champions, racin’ around on his TV screen.
I don’t rightly understand it, but he seems to enjoy it. Keeps him outta trouble, I suppose. Better than him runnin’ around town like some of them other hooligans.
I reckon it is a popular thing. There are a lot of fans. They got these things called Moto2, Moto3, and even a MotoE. I don’t know what those are. Maybe like different brands of the bikes or something, like Ford and Chevy.
MotoGP Books – Learnin’ About Bikes
You can even get books about it. My grandson, he’s got a whole stack of ’em. Full of pictures and stories about them MotoGP tracks and them racers. He reads ’em all the time. Says he wants to learn everything there is to know about MotoGP. You can even buy those MotoGP book on a place called “ebay”. I don’t know what that is but my grandson says it is a place on the computer where you can buy stuff.
Well, I reckon that’s about all I know about them MotoGP tracks. It’s a lot to take in for an old gal like me. But my grandson, he loves it. And that’s all that matters, I suppose. As long as he’s happy, that’s all that counts.
These young folks today, they sure do have a lot of fancy things to keep ’em entertained. Back in my day, we had to make our own fun. But I guess times change. And these MotoGP races, they’re just a part of it, I reckon. A big, noisy, fast part of it.
