Okay, so I saw this “Thomas is gay” thing trending and, like, I had to check it out. What even is it? Turns out, it’s some sort of user-generated content, some kind of meme, whatever. I decided I need to figure out myself, and do some practice to create it on my own.

First, I googled “Thomas is gay”. Bunch of random stuff came up, images, videos, and some articles, you name it. Seems like a lot of people are into it. Seems easy enough.
Digging Deeper
I spent some time looking at the different examples. There are photos, short video, and drawings, some are simple, some are kinda complex.
- Some are just text over an image.
- Some are short videos edits.
- Some are drawings or animations.
I decided to try and make a simple image with text, figuring it’s the easiest way to start. I already have some image editing software on my computer, nothing fancy, just your basic stuff.
My Attempt
I found a picture, I use a random image, and opened it up in my editor.
Then I added some text on top, “Thomas is gay”. Played around with the font and color a bit, I think make it looks good.

I saved the image. And, boom! Done. It’s probably not the most amazing thing ever, but hey, it’s something. It’s my version of this “Thomas is gay” thing.
I even tried to make a short video by combining some images and added the same text. It’s even more messy, but so interesting.
I uploaded them and share with my friends, some laugh, some confused, some just don’t care. But I did it.
It’s all just a silly internet thing, so easy to do. I’m glad I took the time to see what it was all about, and my hand-on practice. Maybe next time I’ll try something more complicated, like those fancy video edits or even some simple drawings. Who knows!
