Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with this “Thomas Fan” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. Here’s how it all went down.
Getting Started
First, I had to figure out what I even wanted to do. “Thomas Fan” is pretty broad, right? So, I started by brainstorming some ideas, I want create a small fan and it can blow the air.
The Build
This is where the fun began! I grabbed some cardboard, because, who doesn’t love a good cardboard project? And some color paper.
- I cut out a circle for the fan base. Just eyeballed it, no fancy measurements here.
- Then, I cut out some smaller circles for fan body, color paper, and pasted it.
- Then I found small motor and pasted, and used some wire connect the battery.
- Making the fan blades was a bit tricky. I ended up using some stiffer cardstock and folding them to give them some shape.
- Finally, I stuck everything together with a whole lot of tape. It wasn’t pretty, but it was functional!
Testing and Tweaks
Time for the moment of truth! I flipped the switch, and… it wiggled! Not exactly the powerful breeze I was hoping for. But I used battery, so it can blow the air, it works!
So, back to the drawing board. I adjusted the angle of the blades a few times, trying to find the sweet spot. And the battery are changeable, so it can blow the air all day.
The Final Result
After a bit more tinkering, I finally got it working! It’s not going to win any awards for design or power, but it actually blows a decent little puff of air. And, most importantly, I made it myself!
It’s a bit rough around the edges, but hey, that’s part of the charm, right? This whole “Thomas Fan” project turned out to be a lot more fun than I expected. Who knew cardboard and tape could be so entertaining?
