Okay, so I wanted to mess around with creating something, and I figured “zhaoyi zhao” sounded like a cool project name. I had no idea what it would be, but that was part of the fun. I just wanted to do something, you know?
First, I opened up my trusty code editor. I didn’t have a plan, so I just stared at the blank screen for a bit. Kind of like writer’s block, but for coding. I decided to start with a simple HTML file, just to get something on the screen.
Getting Started (and Getting Stuck)
- Created an * file.
- Added the basic HTML structure (you know, html, head, body tags).
- Threw in an h2 tag that said “Zhaoyi Zhao Project”. Very creative, I know.
Then, I thought, “Okay, let’s add some style!” So, I created a CSS file and linked it to the HTML. I played around with some background colors and fonts, just to make it look a little less…blank. It wasn’t pretty, but it was progress!
The “Aha!” Moment (Sort Of)
I spent a while just messing with the CSS, changing colors, moving things around. I even tried adding a silly animation, but it looked janky as hell. It was at some point in all that I finally got an idea. I was like, “Okay, I’m just gonna make a basic image display”. I didn’t even know what images I’d use yet.
I went back to the HTML and started adding some image tags. I found some random pictures on my computer (mostly pictures of my cat, let’s be honest) and threw them in there. I resized it with CSS, I added the style, and I made it!
The End Result
It’s nothing fancy, by made it by myself. That’s the whole point of this “zhaoyi zhao” project – just trying things out, making mistakes, and learning along the way. This whole thing was just me goofing around, and that’s okay! Sometimes, you just gotta build something, even if it’s a little rough around the edges.
