Okay, so the other day I was messing around with Stable Diffusion, you know, that AI thing that makes pictures from words. I had this silly idea to try and generate an image of, get this, a horse named Friday. Don’t ask me why, it just popped into my head.
Getting Started
First, I fired up my Stable *, I started with a super basic prompt, just “horse named friday”. I figured, why not start simple, right?
The first few attempts? Total garbage. Like, really weird-looking horses, more like nightmare fuel than anything. Some had extra legs, others were just… blobs. It clearly wasn’t getting the “Friday” part, it just gave a horse picture.I realized I needed to be way more specific.
Adding Details
So, I started adding details. I changed the prompt to something like:
- “A beautiful, strong brown horse, standing in a sunny field, with the word ‘Friday’ somehow incorporated, maybe on a name tag or something.”
Still… not great. The horses looked better, sure, but the “Friday” part was either missing or just a jumbled mess of letters. One time, it tried to write “Friday” on the horse’s flank, and it looked like a kindergartener’s scribble.
Experimenting with Styles
I figured maybe a different style would help. I tried adding things like “photorealistic,” “artistic rendering,” “digital painting,”. The “digital painting” one actually got me a little closer. It gave me a horse with a sort of name tag, but the word “Friday” was still totally illegible.
Fine-Tuning and Failure
I spent, I kid you not, a good hour tweaking that prompt. I tried different camera angles (“close-up,” “wide shot”), different lighting (“golden hour,” “dramatic backlighting”), even different breeds of horse (“Mustang,” “Arabian”). Nothing worked. Either the horse looked messed up, or the “Friday” part was a disaster.
Finally, a breakthrough
I have adjust my prompt to:
- A logo with a horse icon and text “FRIDAY” under the icon, with clean and bold font.
That is, I gave up that to generate a name tag, I want to create a logo with a horse icon! The result is pretty good, the only one I get a clear “FRIDAY”, although I still have to keep the horse icon looks good. But I think that’s the best result I can have.
It’s not exactly what I originally envisioned, but hey, it’s a horse and a clear “FRIDAY” It’s a learning process, right?Maybe next time I’ll try for a cat named Tuesday.
