That Suarez celebration: Relive the craziest moments.

Must read

Alright, so I wanted to try out the “Suarez celebration” – you know, the one where he kisses his wrist and three fingers. I’m no professional soccer player, far from it, but I figured it’d be fun to give it a shot and see if I could even pull it off with any semblance of grace.

That Suarez celebration: Relive the craziest moments.

The Setup

First, I cleared out some space in my backyard. Didn’t want to accidentally kick a ball through a window. I grabbed a soccer ball that’s seen better days, honestly, it’s got more scuff marks than a pair of old work boots. And, well, that was it. No fancy equipment, just me, a ball, and a vague idea of what I was doing.

The (Attempted) Execution

  • Step one: Score a goal. Okay, this was more of an imaginary goal. I dribbled the ball a bit, pretending there were defenders (mostly just overgrown weeds), and then took a shot. Let’s just say it went somewhere near where I was aiming. Close enough!
  • Step two: The run-up. I tried to channel my inner Suarez, which mostly involved running a few steps with a slightly awkward gait. I’m not sure I nailed the “intensity” part.
  • Step Three: The kiss. I brought my wrist up to my mouth and gave it a peck. Felt a bit silly, to be honest.
  • Step Four: The three fingers. Then, I held up my index, middle, and ring fingers, just like Suarez does. This part was actually the easiest.

The Result

Honestly? It was… underwhelming. My “celebration” probably looked more like a confused dance move than a tribute to a world-class striker. I definitely didn’t feel the surge of adrenaline I imagine Suarez feels after scoring a banger in a packed stadium. My dog did, however, look very interested in the process, and even wagged it’s tail at me, as if cheering me on. So, bonus points for entertaining the pup!

But hey, I tried it! It was a fun little experiment, even if I’m nowhere near ready for the Premier League. Maybe I’ll stick to watching the professionals do their thing. But I definitely apprieciate them more now.
