Okay, so today I messed around with this “There I am Gary” thing. It all started when I stumbled upon this weird, kinda creepy meme online. I was like, “What the heck is this?” So, I decided to dig in.

The Hunt Begins
First, I just googled “There I am Gary”. I got a bunch of random stuff – forum posts, some Reddit threads, and a few YouTube videos. It seemed like a really obscure internet joke. The videos were… unsettling, to say the least.
I spent a good hour just clicking around, trying to piece together what this whole thing was about. It seemed to be related to some old, low-budget animation or something? The quality was terrible, which made it even creepier.
Diving Deeper
Then, I decided to try and recreate the “Gary” character myself. I’m no artist, but I opened up MS Paint (yeah, I’m old school) and started doodling. It was a disaster. My Gary looked more like a melted potato than whatever that thing in the videos was.
- Attempt 1: Total fail. Looked like a blob.
- Attempt 2: Slightly better, but still awful. Gave him some weird, lopsided eyes.
- Attempt 3: Okay, this one was almost recognizable. I think.
I even try to make my face looks like “Gary”, it’s so fun.

The “There I am” Part
The “There I am” part was even weirder. From what I could gather, it’s just something you’re supposed to say when you see… well, Gary. It’s like a catchphrase or something. I tried saying it out loud a few times, and honestly, it just felt silly.
I recorded a short video of myself saying “There I am Gary” with the most deadpan expression I could muster. It was so awkward. I showed it to my friend, and they just stared at me like I’d grown a second head.
Conclusion (Kinda)
So, after a few hours of this nonsense, I’m still not entirely sure what “There I am Gary” is all about. It’s probably just one of those internet things that’s funny because it’s so random and strange. I definitely wasted a good chunk of my day on it, but hey, at least I got a good laugh (and a slightly creepy feeling) out of it. Maybe I’ll try drawing Gary again tomorrow. Who knows?
