Okay, so “violet violent” – sounds kinda edgy, right? I wanted to mess around with these two words and see if I could make something cool, like maybe a band name or a song title, or even just a weird art piece. I had no solid plan, just vibing.

Scribbling and Brainstorming
First, I grabbed my notebook and just started writing down anything that came to mind. “Violet” made me think of, obviously, the color purple, but also like, dusk, flowers, and maybe something a bit melancholic. “Violent” was all hard edges, sharp sounds, maybe broken glass, and definitely a lot of energy.
- Scribble down all the word which can associate.
- Thinking about the color.
- Find the feeling.
I spent like a good hour just filling pages with random words and phrases. Stuff like “shattered amethyst,” “velvet rage,” “bruised sky” – just trying to capture that mix of soft and harsh. I even doodled a bit, drawing jagged lines next to flowy, floral shapes.
Playing with Sounds
Next, I wanted to hear the words out loud. I started whispering them, then saying them louder, trying different emphasis. “VI-o-let VI-o-lent.” “vi-O-let vi-O-lent.” It felt different each time. I even recorded myself saying it a few times (cringe, I know) just to see if anything clicked.
I tried singing them too, in a really amateur way. I’m no musician, but I hummed a few different melodies, trying to find one that felt both pretty and dangerous. Nothing really stuck, but it was fun to experiment.
Making it Visual
Since I’m a visual person, I decided to play around with fonts and colors. I opened up a basic image editor on my laptop (nothing fancy) and just started typing the words out in different styles. I tried a super delicate, cursive font for “violet” and a bold, blocky one for “violent.”

Then I messed with the colors. Obviously, I used purple for “violet,” but I experimented with different shades – a deep, almost black-purple, a bright lavender, even a grayish, muted tone. For “violent,” I tried a harsh red, a rusty orange, and even a stark black.
- Changing different fonts.
- Using a basic image editor to type the words.
- Trying different colors such as “red”,”orange” and “black”.
The (Kinda) End Result
After all that messing around, I didn’t really come up with a masterpiece. But I did have a few things I liked:
- A phrase: “Violet’s Violent Silence.” It felt kinda poetic, even if it’s a bit dramatic.
- A color combo: Deep purple with a blood-red accent. It looked surprisingly cool.
- A new appreciation: For how much you can do with just two words.
So, yeah, that was my “violet violent” journey. It wasn’t about getting a perfect result, it was more about the process of exploring and experimenting. Maybe I’ll revisit it later, maybe not. But it was a fun way to spend an afternoon!
