Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get my clubs fitted for, like, ever. I finally bit the bullet and booked a session at the PGA Superstore. Here’s how it all went down.

Walking In
First off, I walked in, feeling a little intimidated, not gonna lie. All those shiny clubs and high-tech gadgets… But the guy at the desk was super chill. I told him I had a fitting appointment, and he pointed me to the fitting area.
Meeting the Fitter
I met my fitter, Mark, He was a really down-to-earth dude, which instantly made me feel more comfortable. We chatted a bit about my game – what I struggle with, what my goals are, that kind of thing. I told him I’m basically a weekend warrior, tend to slice the ball, and want more consistency.
The Warm-Up
Mark had me start by hitting some balls with my current 7-iron. Just to get loose and get a baseline reading on their fancy launch monitor. It was showing all sorts of numbers – ball speed, launch angle, spin rate… stuff I barely understand, to be honest.
Trying Different Clubs
Then the fun began! Mark started handing me different clubs. We tried different shafts – steel, graphite, different flexes. He’d explain a little about each one, but mostly he just wanted me to hit a few balls and see how it felt.
- Shafts: We cycled through a bunch of different shafts. Stiff, regular, senior… you name it. It’s amazing how much difference a shaft can make!
- Club Heads: We also messed around with different club heads. Some were bigger, some smaller, different weighting… all that jazz.
Analyzing the Data
After each set of shots, Mark would show me the data on the launch monitor. We could see how each club performed – distance, accuracy, dispersion pattern (basically, how much my shots were spread out). It was pretty eye-opening to see the actual numbers, not just feel the difference.

Making Recommendations
After trying a whole bunch of combinations, Mark started narrowing it down. He pointed out a couple of shafts and club heads that were consistently giving me better results. He explained why he thought they were a good fit for my swing.
The Final Decision (Or Lack Thereof)
He gave me a printout of all the specs – shaft type, flex, club head, lie angle, the whole nine * offerd me a good discount.
I’m still thinking,Maybe someday I can buy it。
