Alright, so I decided to dive into Helldivers 2 solo, see if I could handle those bugs and bots all by my lonesome. Let me tell you, it’s a whole different beast compared to playing with a squad.

Gearing Up
First things first, I had to rethink my loadout. Forget about relying on teammates to cover my weaknesses. I needed to be a one-man army.
- Primary Weapon: I went with the trusty Breaker shotgun. Good damage, decent range, and it can handle crowds in a pinch.
- Secondary Weapon: The Redeemer pistol was my choice. Fast firing rate for those close calls.
- Stratagems: This is where it gets crucial. I packed:
- Orbital Laser: Big boom for taking out big bugs or fabricators.
- Eagle Airstrike: More versatile than the laser, good for clearing out groups.
- Guard Dog ‘Rover’: A little buddy that zaps enemies and keeps them off my back.
- Supply Pack: Gotta keep that ammo flowing!
The Mission Begins
I dropped in, feeling pretty confident. At first it felt good, I was scouting and killing the first few enemies in silence, the sound of liberty spread smoothly.
Facing the Horde
It did not take long until I got myself surrounded by a bunch of bugs out of nowhere.
It was chaos! Bugs everywhere, my Guard Dog was working overtime, and I was blasting away with the Breaker like there’s no tomorrow.
The key is to keep moving. Never stop running, always be aware of your surroundings, and use those stratagems wisely.

I managed to clear the wave with a well-placed Eagle Airstrike, but my heart was pounding.
Objectives and Extraction
Completing objectives solo requires a lot more planning. I couldn’t just rush in, I had to scout the area, identify threats, and prioritize targets.
It took longer, but I managed to complete all the main objectives. Extraction was another tense moment. I called in the shuttle, set up a perimeter, and fought off the final wave. It was a close call, but I made it out alive.
Final Thoughts
Playing Helldivers 2 solo is tough, but totally doable. It forces you to play smarter, be more resourceful, and really master your stratagems. It’s a great way to challenge yourself and improve your skills. I might even try a higher difficulty next time… maybe.
