So, I saw this cool idea online about making a cover for your motorbike, and I thought, “Why not give it a try?” I mean, my bike sits outside a lot, and it gets hammered by the sun, rain, and everything else. Figured a cover would be a good way to keep it looking decent.
Getting Started
First thing I did was look around for some old material. I didn’t want to buy anything new if I didn’t have to. Luckily, I found a big, thick tarp in the garage that we weren’t using anymore. It was a bit dusty, but nothing a good shake couldn’t fix.

The Process
Next, I draped the tarp over my motorbike to get a rough idea of how much material I needed. It was way too big, obviously, so I grabbed some scissors and started trimming. I’m no expert at sewing or anything, so I just went for a basic shape that would cover the whole bike.
I cut off the excess material, leaving enough to fold over the edges and make it a bit neater. Then came the tricky part – trying to make sure it would stay on! I found some old bungee cords and rope in the garage, too. I used these to tie the tarp down, making sure it was snug against the bike.

- Secured it with cords: Bungee cords and some old rope did the trick.
The Result
It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works! The tarp covers the bike completely, and the cords keep it from blowing away in the wind. It’s definitely not waterproof, but it’ll keep most of the rain and sun off, which is what I was going for.
Honestly, it was a pretty simple project. Took me maybe an hour or two, and I didn’t have to spend any money. If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to protect your motorbike, and you don’t mind a bit of a DIY look, this is definitely worth a shot!
