Okay, so, the other day I was thinkin’, “I need a little getaway.” Not like, a real vacation, just, you know, something different. So I remembered Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, PA. I’d heard about it, never been, figured, why not?
First thing I did was look up directions. It’s, like, a couple hours from where I am, pretty easy drive. I packed a small bag – you never know, might decide to stay the night – and grabbed some cash. Always gotta have cash for, well, you know…gambling!
I hopped in the car, blasted some tunes, and started driving. The drive itself was nice, not too much traffic. It’s always good to get out of the city for a bit, see some green, you know?
When I got there, the place was, well, pretty much what I expected. Lots of lights, sounds of slot machines, the whole deal. Parking was easy, no problem there.
I went inside, and the first thing I did was get a player’s card. You stick that thing in the machines, rack up points, maybe get some free stuff. Why not, right? It was a little bit of a hassle to find the right desk to set up, but after that, it was easy.
Then, I walked around. Checked out the different slot machines. They’ve got tons of them, all kinds, all different themes. I even saw some table games, like blackjack and stuff, but I’m more of a slots guy, myself.
So, I picked a machine, sat down, put my card in, and started playing. Nothing crazy, just a little bit of money here and there. I won some, lost some…that’s how it goes, right? It’s the thrill, the chance of winning big, that’s fun.
I played for a few hours, took a break to grab a bite to eat. They have a few different restaurants there. I ended up eating a burger and fries, because you gotta test that out. It was actually pretty good, a good price too!
After that, I went back to the machines. Played some more, still no giant jackpot, but I had fun. That’s the important part, I guess.
Eventually, it was getting late, and I was getting tired. I cashed out – didn’t win big, didn’t lose big, basically broke even. Which, for a night of entertainment, isn’t bad at all, in my book.
I got back in my car, drove home, and that was that. A nice little getaway, a change of scenery. Might go back sometime, maybe try my luck again. Who knows, maybe next time I’ll hit the jackpot!
