Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out the 2024 MLB rule changes:

So, I started my day like any other baseball fan – totally hyped for the new season! But then I remembered: there are always new rules, right? I decided I needed to get this straight before I got too deep into any games.
First, I went straight to the source, I am not going to rely on some random forum posts, I had to get the real deal, I opened the official MLB website, and started digging.
My Deep Dive into the Rules
I scrolled through a bunch of articles, and honestly, my eyes started to glaze over a bit. It’s a lot of information, and I needed it for the games!
- Pitch Clock Stuff: I focused on making sure I really understood the pitch clock adjustments. I read about the time limits between pitches, with and without runners on base. 18 seconds with runners on, that’s what changed, down from 20! I had to jot that down.
- Bigger Bases: I think that one is pretty straight forward.
- Shift Restrictions:I spent some time reviewing the defensive shift limitations. I wanted to see how it impacts game, specially infielders positions.
I even watched a couple of videos. Seeing the rules in action definitely helped them click.

After a couple of hours.I feel way more prepared now. I can actually watch a game and understand what’s going on with the pace and positioning.
Now, I’m ready to just relax and enjoy some baseball! Go [My Team]!
