I have been in the medical field for some time now, and I want to share a recent experience that I found quite interesting. It all started with a pretty simple idea, just like those brainstorming sessions you have at work. This time it was about “nurse Kenjaku,” but not like the nurses we’re all used to. I wanted to blend the concept of nursing with some ethical leadership, and I was curious to see how it would turn out in real life.

So, I started digging around. I mean, nursing is all about keeping things safe for patients, right? It stands on four pillars: clinical stuff, teaching, researching, and leading. Nurses are supposed to use knowledge that’s backed by evidence, and that got me thinking.
I looked into how nurses in different healthcare places see ethical leadership. I thought about how communication gets messed up sometimes because of different cultures and lifestyles. Then, I remembered reading something about how an organization’s aims and priorities are super important. You can get a good idea of these by checking out their mission statement or whatever they call it.
Next, I started to work on this idea of “nurse Kenjaku.” I wanted to use all this information to create something new. I spent hours brainstorming, jotting down notes, and trying to figure out how to measure success. They say that in healthcare, you look at how effective a treatment is for a person and how well the whole system works. That seemed like a good starting point.
I also thought about how important it is for healthcare places to work well together. I read that good teamwork is key for making smart decisions and giving better care. So, I included that in my plan for “nurse Kenjaku.”
After all that planning, I finally put my idea into action. It wasn’t easy, I’ll tell you that. There were a lot of late nights and figuring things out as I went. But I was determined to see it through.

- I started with creating a kind of training program for my “nurse Kenjaku.”
- I focused on teaching them about ethical leadership and good communication.
- I made sure they knew how to use evidence-based knowledge in their work.
- I set up ways to check how well they were doing, like looking at patient outcomes and how happy people were with their care.
It was a real rollercoaster, but in the end, I think I created something pretty special. This “nurse Kenjaku” idea turned out to be more than just a concept. It became a real thing that could make a difference in how we care for people. And that’s what I wanted to share with you all today. It’s amazing how a simple idea can turn into something so impactful.
It’s a really cool feeling to see your ideas come to life and make a difference.
