This here Mass Effect 2, it’s a thing, ain’t it? Lots of folks talkin’ ’bout it. My grandson, he plays it all the time. Says it’s good. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout these games. But he was yellin’ the other day ’bout somethin’ called “Kasumi” and “vents”. Sounds like a mess, if you ask me.
Seems like in this game, you gotta send someone through these vents. Like them things in the ceiling, you know? And this Kasumi, she’s one of them you can send. But you gotta be careful, my grandson says. If she ain’t “loyal,” she might just kick the bucket in there. Loyal, shmoyal. What does that even mean in a game? Back in my day, loyal meant your dog wouldn’t bite you.
- This Kasumi, she’s a “tech specialist.”
- Gotta be loyal, or else she might die.
- Vents are like them ceiling things.
Now, he was also goin’ on about some other folks, Tali and Legion. Said they could go in the vents too. More names to remember. And somethin’ about a fire team leader. Miranda, Jacob, Garrus… My head’s spinnin’ just thinkin’ about it. Sounds like you need a whole army just to get through these vents. Why can’t they just open a door like normal people?
And get this, if the “Normandy” ain’t fixed up right, people start dyin’ left and right. Before the fight even happens. Sounds like a poorly made ship to me. My old man, rest his soul, he built our barn with his own two hands. That thing stood strong for 50 years. Never lost a single chicken to a leaky roof. These newfangled spaceships, they fall apart if you look at ’em wrong.
Then there’s this whole business with the crew. If you don’t do things just right, half of ’em die. Kelly, Gabby, Ken, even the cook! Poor Gardner, makin’ his space stew, and then BAM! Gone. And if you mess up even worse, everyone except the doctor dies. Chakwas, that’s her name. She must be one tough cookie to survive all that.
My grandson was goin’ on and on about givin’ Tali some “data” from the first game. And makin’ peace between Tali and Legion. Sounds like a soap opera. And makin’ sure they’re both “loyal” again. And Tali can’t get kicked out, or “banished” as he called it. Goodness gracious, it’s all so complicated.
This Kasumi, she’s got some plan to steal somethin’. A “graybox” or somethin’. Belonged to someone named Okuda. Sounds fishy to me. Why’s she needin’ to steal this thing? And why’s my grandson helpin’ her? Kids these days, always gettin’ mixed up in somethin’ they shouldn’t be.
This Mass Effect 2 Kasumi vents thing sounds like it is important in the game. Make sure she is loyal, that is what people say. Loyal means she don’t die. If she not loyal then you get a big problem.
There’s a fella named Hock, he lets you in somewhere but says Kasumi can’t come. He don’t like the look of her. Well, I’ll be. Maybe he knows somethin’ we don’t. But you gotta let her disappear into the shadows, or somethin’. Sounds like a magic trick. She some kind of magician, this Kasumi?
They also talk about some mission where you gotta have Kasumi for the vents, and somethin’ about a Commander Shepard. And a former squad mate. Also a romance thing. So much goin on, I am tellin’ ya.
This Kasumi, she is a crew member. You get her in the Citadel. She needs help with something. This is the start of her mission.

- She needs to be loyal to not die in the vents.
So, there you have it. All I know about this Mass Effect 2 and these vents and this Kasumi character. It’s a lot of nonsense, if you ask me. But my grandson seems to like it. And that’s all that matters, I suppose. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my prize-winning zucchini. It ain’t gonna win no blue ribbon sittin’ here listenin’ to me talk about spaceships and video games.
This game sounds very hard. You have to do this and that, and if you don’t, people die. In my day, all you had to do was feed your chickens and clean the barn. This Kasumi in the vents thing is important, people say. Just make her loyal, that is all.
