Farmers Insurance Open 2019 Highlights: Who Won and What Happened? (Catch Up on the Action)

Must read

Okay, so, I’ve always been a huge golf fan. And the Farmers Insurance Open? Man, that’s a big one. So in 2019, I decided I was going to follow it like a hawk and document the whole thing, you know, play-by-play.

First, I started scouring the internet for any info I could find. I needed a reliable leaderboard, one that updated in real time, so I didn’t miss a single stroke. I found a couple of good ones. The PGA TOUR’s official site had one, which was pretty solid. I also found one on ESPN’s website. That one was great because it not only had the leaderboard but also individual player scorecards. I also stumbled across some other sites, like Flashscore and Golf Live 24, both of which also offered the 2019 leaderboard.

I basically had these websites open on my computer for the whole duration of the tournament. It was intense! I wrote down the names of all the players I cared about. Every time they played, I’d jot down their scores. It was a lot of work, constantly refreshing and taking notes, but I was determined.

  • Checked the PGA TOUR site for the official leaderboard.
  • Opened up ESPN for the leaderboard and scorecards.
  • Found leaderboards on Flashscore and Golf Live 24.
  • Kept all these pages open and refreshed constantly.
  • Wrote down the names of all the players I was following.
  • Recorded their scores meticulously.

The tournament was held at Torrey Pines, which is this beautiful course in San Diego. I wish I could’ve been there in person, but watching it unfold online was the next best thing. The South course, where they played, is known for being pretty tough.

As the days went by, I kept up with my note-taking. I followed my favorite players religiously. The competition was fierce, and the leaderboard kept changing. It was so exciting! I felt like I was right there with them, experiencing every birdie and bogey.

Finally, the last day arrived. The tension was palpable, even through my computer screen. I was glued to the leaderboard, watching every update. And then, it was over. Justin Rose was the winner. I remember feeling this rush of excitement, even though I was just sitting in my room. I had followed the whole thing so closely, it felt like I had somehow participated in it myself.

My Findings

After the tournament, I compiled all my notes. I had pages and pages of scores and observations. I even made my own little leaderboard, based on the players I had followed. It was so cool to see it all laid out like that. I had a complete record of the tournament, at least from my perspective.

This whole experience was so much fun. I learned a lot about the players and the course. And I proved to myself that I could commit to something like this, follow through, and create my own detailed record of an event. It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. I might not be a professional sports journalist, but for those few days, I felt like one.
